Alanis Ortiz Espinoza, B.A., LL.B
Lawyer

Alanis is a Lawyer and serves the in-house legal department of a private equity firm in Toronto. Alanis possesses a BA in Political Science (with distinction) from the University of Toronto, an LLB from the University of Leicester (United Kingdom), and a Certification in Negotiation from the Harvard Business School. Alanis earned her Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada (National Committee on Accreditation) in 2022.
 

In 2021, Alanis founded her initiative, Legal Mentorship by Alanis, a business dedicated to supporting students interested in becoming licensed lawyers in Ontario. As a result, Alanis has helped many students apply to law schools in Canada and in the UK. Her leadership and board governance roles include Director at the Canadian Hispanic Bar Association, Former Vice-Chair and Director at Equal Voice, Former Secretary at the Ontario Bar Association – Student Section Executive, and Former Advocacy Committee Member at the Women’s Law Association of Ontario.
 

Alanis has always been passionate about law, community service, and in attaining international experience — having lived/studied in Canada, Germany, Panama, and the UK. She is fluent in English, Spanish and conversant in French.
